Task
The rumour circulated for a long time but now it’s time: The new product for HCV therapy is finally here. The 130-strong sales team can learn all about the benefits in five full days. And have fun at the same time. How? interface has the idea.
Implementation
Right at arrival, a deeper look into the eyes – of a colleague: Each participant may draw a card with the photo of a pair of eyes at the entrance. The task is to find the owner of the eyes in the photo that evening. And getting to know each other is guaranteed. The photo wall with the pictures of all the participants with the motto “We want it all!” also shows the human aspect and team size.
Day 2: In a plenum specially built by trade fair builders, the first surprise awaits: To warm up, drums are hidden under the chairs. Just a short time later, everyone vibrates to the rhythm of the community spirit and the plenum. Surprise no. 2 is already on stage: A box. When it opens up, four employees appear presenting the new product packaging and design. Everything else about the new product is then presented in plenary lectures and workshops. Alternated by breaks with cocktails in product colours. The highlight for dinner is then the exhibition of patients who express in pictures, how they are experiencing their disease.
Day 3: Workshops with stations and poster exhibits convey the facts in detail. The structure in the afternoon appears like an industrial exhibition where discussions with field staff and end users such as doctors open up new views.
Selfie sticks as room drops and the evening already kicks off with great team tasks: Everyone receives a roadbook and must overcome challenges in the neighbourhood like to going to eat a curry sausage, taking a photo of the Reeperbahn or visiting the Davidwache to acquire the solution word. And after all, it’s worth it because it reveals where dinner will be held. During dinner, the best selfies are chosen and the winning team is picked before the DJ puts on the music and the dancing starts.
Day 4: After a busy meeting programme, the big gala evening starts. The atmosphere in Kaispeicher am Hafen inspires everyone. The light juggler lets the shape of the
logos shine. Then the live switching in the United States. The CEO conveys the good news in person on the phone: The approval is official!
Day 5: The Science Slam, rehearsed with five trainers, brings the group in top form once again. Everything may be performed, whether song, sketch or whatever. A clapometer shows the enthusiasm of the spectators.
In parting, everyone sees the compilation of the meeting highlights as a film and relives a full programme once again. Then it’s time to go home again. In the luggage, drum sticks with our meeting motto for staying in the rhythm of success.
Result
A team that is initiated in the new product topic and fit for the sales launch. And that reinforces, motivates and breathes new life into team work with a sense of community spirit.
